New album . . . ?
My good friend Phil Hurley of country rockers Stonehoney told me to meet him at Spaceland a few weeks ago. We were checking out Oliver Future, who had just played on KCRW that morning. Phil introduced me to his friend Adam Lasus who produced Oliver Future’s new record, which sounds fantastic. Adam also produced Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s debut album, which Pitchfork gave a 9.0 and went on to sell a bajillion copies. Turns out he’s from the same county as Anks back in New York, and we all got along famously. So we’ve set aside a few days next month to record some new tracks with Adam over in Studio City and see where we go.
