Block party
- Block party where I’m staying right now in Santa Monica. Live cover band, drinks, table tennis. Folks asked me to go up and play. My voice is still hoarse though so I had a good excuse to just have some drinks and wish I could hop in the party jumpers.
- I’ve just downloaded the new release of GIMP 2.4. I just need a good illustration program with a good channel mixer. Anks turned me on to Xara for design which is what I used to create our Hawk logo. Hopefully this release will have a slightly easier to use interface for basic editing.
- Just got word from Adam and it looks like we’ll start recording some songs around Thanksgiving. Which is when we always seem to record. I remember spending a cold Thanksgiving weekend in Ithaca, NY recording “Absolute zero,” “to the eveningstar,” and “Tsunami” with Alex Perialas. By the time we remembered to buy groceries the local grocery stores were out of turkeys. We made frozen dinners and overcooked our instant pumpkin pie, turning it into soup. Anks cheated at Streetfighter, using the quick controls to automatically do E. Honda’s 100-Hand Slap all day.
