Hotel Cafe
So my buddy Leland, his fiance and I went to Hotel Cafe
in Hollywood last night. Stonehoney and Oliver Future were sharing the bill. Family tree here - my pal Phil Hurley of Stonehoney introduced me to Adam, who is producing our new record. Adam produced Oliver Future’s new album. To add to the small world of that night I ran into my friend Rachel who’s helping them out with PR stuffs. At least I think that’s what she said. I’d seen O.F. once before at Spaceland and tonight they did a neat stripped down set. Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, upright bass and upright piano/accordian. Neat.
My friend Ella pulled her car over the other night and made me listen to three alternate version’s of George’s Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord.” I’m glad she did. We listened to a version where this female lead takes over and just breaks your heart.
