Backstage Cafe

So the folks from Myspace have kindly invited us to play for them this Thursday night. It’s a free show at the late Ian Copeland’s Backstage Cafe in Beverly Hills. Not only did he book for his brother Stewart and The Police, but I heard he also discovered The Average White Band. Anywho, it’s a cool rock and roll bar with one of Barney Kessel’s guitars on the wall. And we go on at 8pm for those of you in Los Angeles. This will be a fun way to try out some of our new album material. Colin’s lined up some good looking shows for us at The Derby and Hotel Cafe (!) at the start of the new year.

I’ve been weirded out by Gibson’s Robot Guitar. I’m not posting the video. I prefer to play out of tune. Slightly. Plus I play Telecasters. Out of tune. I will post a video of Barney though, playing with one of my favorite players, Grant Green, and Kenny Burrell. I met Kenny one morning in Westwood Village. He drove a midnight blue Crown Vic, of course. I shared my orange juice with him. We talked about the weather.
