KLOS is playing a lot of Steely Dan album cuts today. And for the first time in my life I’m kind of enjoying Steely Dan. You know, I think it started with my idea to write a Van Morrison kind of tune. That led to the smooth shuffle of Toto’s singles and now I can see why I’m not running from the Dan. Plus Michael McDonald is singing backup on whatever song is playing now. Plus I just watched Point Break for the first time and Swayze’s character is named Bodhisattva.

I jumped into the Pacific today because where I’m from you can’t 1) jump into any ocean and 2) do anything involving water outside in January. And 3) because the girl with me was stripping out of her clothes to go in and I was damn sure going to join her.

I was at the Cat Club this week and I saw Ronnie Van Zant on the screen from an Old Grey Whistle Test DVD. I then claimed that America’s greatest rock band was and is Lynyrd Skynyrd. Since this is a disputable theory I will claim that Skynyrd is America’s Led Zeppelin.
